For a few years I’ve wondered how designers with a traditional graphic design training have transitioned into positions with new demanding skills, such as UI and UX design. This is not just about learning code or new software like Balsamiq, but really finding a way to retrain your brain when it comes to design solutions.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to go through the same experience. Hopefully this narcissistic exercise will help my future self understand the journey when I look back and others looking to make a similar move.
